We’re excited to announce that registration is now open for the 2025 Concerto Festival with Tacoma Music Collaborative! This annual concert series gives student musicians the extraordinary opportunity to perform a concerto with live orchestra accompaniment.
This year includes two festivals: April 1-5 for works with string orchestra only, and May 13-17 for pieces that include a full orchestra of strings, winds, brass and percussion. Registration is open now through March 10th. Registrations will be limited to the amount of rehearsal and concert time available, on a first-come, first-served basis. So register early to have the best chance at securing your spot!
If you are performing a work with string orchestra we request that you participate in April. If you are not available in April, you may register for the May event. Works with full orchestra will only be available to be performed in May.
Imagine you, your student, or your child taking center stage to perform a piece backed by experienced musicians who are committed to supporting students in their musical growth.
Each student musician learns the art of collaboration in a unique, hands-on environment where TMC’s conductor and ensemble all work together to support each student stepping on to our stage, whether they are a beginner to their instrument or have spent years honing their craft.
Registration will close on March 10, 2025.
About the Concerto Festival
The Concerto Festival is Tacoma Music Collaborative’s (TMC) flagship event. Each spring, we bring together student musicians and a full ensemble for a concert series featuring the finest pedagogical repertoire and full concerto movements. Each student rehearses and performs with an orchestra comprised of professional and collegiate musicians. The atmosphere is designed to support each student and ensure they have an excellent experience performing their work in front of family, colleagues, and community members in the audience.
2025 Festival dates include:
- String Orchestra Festival – April 5, 2025, 2:00 and 5:00pm, at Christ Episcopal Church in Tacoma
- Symphony Orchestra Festival – May 17, 2025, 2:00 and 5:00pm, at Schneebeck Hall, University of Puget Sound
These concerts are free to attend and open to all members of the community. A suggested donation at the door will help support access to the arts for all musicians through maintaining low registration fees, providing student scholarships, and bringing in new music and musicians to our Tacoma community.
Whether you’re a student interested in performing or a community member eager to experience this exciting event, we invite you to visit tacomamusic.org for more details. Additionally, past Concerto festivals can be viewed on TMC’s YouTube Channel.
A limited amount of scholarship is available for those who need financial support to participate. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this incredible musical experience!
