Opportunities for music students to take center stage alongside professional musicians because we believe that all musicians should experience the extraordinary joy of live performance without the pressure of competition.

Annually, 100+ music students of all levels and ages rehearse and perform collaborative and concerto repertoire with TMC’s festival orchestra.

How it Works

1. Register for a TMC Event
Submit repertoire information, contact information, and availability for the piece you would like to perform. Then, spend the next few months practicing!

2. Rehearse with Collaborative Musicians

Students rehearse 2-3 times with collaborative musicians during the 1-2 weeks prior to their concert performance.

3. Take Center Stage & Perform

Student performs their chamber or concerto piece, in front of an audience of their peers and supporters.

Our Programs

TMC hosts many events throughout the year, including our core annual events and numerous off-stage events such as masterclasses, public school coaching sessions, and more. Events are typically held in the Tacoma area and feature music students from the Puget Sound area and beyond taught by a diverse group of music instructors.

Our core events include our Chamber Music Festival and Concerto Festival. All concerts are open to the public and free to attend.

Chamber Music Festival

This festival features student musicians performing with a small ensemble provided by TMC consisting of a pianist, violinist, and cellist.

This festival is a great introduction for new performers or those looking to improve their collaborative skills.

Concerto Festival

This festival features student soloists performing with an orchestral ensemble and conductor.

This festival is a great step for soloists who have some collaborative experience and are ready to play with conductor and orchestra.
