Before you get too excited about the pumpkin spice lattes, mom’s turkey dinner, and the 24/7 holiday music to fully encompass our radio stations, get excited about these live shows happening in Tacoma this month!
11/11: Champagne Sunday Release Party
Tacoma’s favorite husband & wife duo, Champagne Sunday, is taking the stage at Fawcett Hall to share their new album, SHiNE. Since 2005, they have been performing around the Pacific Northwest, bringing an unrivaled energetic stage performance to every show. With special guest appearances from other Tacoma artists, and an opening set by The W Lovers (which will be great, don’t come late!), Sunday’s show will be a packed house, full of Tacoma Pride.
11/30: Friendsgiving w/ Stephanie Anne Johnson & The Highdogs
In a tradition that started last year at The Mule Tavern, Stephanie Anne Johnson and her band, The Highdogs, host another Friendsgiving: a night of potluck, music, and community. There’s a lot going on here, so let’s try to simplify the events of the evening: first, is a private VIP acoustic set of material that is rarely performed live, then a potluck for all ticket holders to break bread and be friends, during this time, your ticket includes a specialty craft cocktail designed for the evening. You’ll then take a seat and enjoy a 2 hour live-recorded performance of the full band singing songs you know, and songs you’ll love, then the evening concludes with more friendship and community. Don’t forget to take home your Tupperware!
11/20: The Sky Giants / Vanilla / Steve Ailment’s Albro Swift Exit
It’s a little psychedelic, a little pop, and a little mystery because…who/what is Steve Ailment’s Albro Swift Exit? We can all find out on Friday, November 30th at The Airport Tavern, I suppose. With that aside, this show still makes our highlight list because of the carefully crafted music of the groups, The Sky Giants and Vanilla with Tacoma musicians like Peter Tietjen, Jay Jarmon, and Sean Gaffney.
